Almost anything that isn't dangerous or restricted. Here are the most common items our customers send home.
These items are banned by ZIM, IMDG maritime rules, and Jamaica Customs. Packing any of these can get your barrel seized and delay the whole container.
Import rules can change without notice, and Jamaica Customs and the Ministry of Agriculture — not ShipToJamaica.ca — make the final call at the port. Accepting your barrel for shipping does not guarantee any item will clear inspection.
Clothing, shoes, bedding, non-perishable food, canned goods, toiletries, small appliances, household items, toys, school supplies, and general merchandise. Almost anything not on the prohibited list is allowed.
Aerosols, batteries of any kind, flammable liquids, gas cylinders, paint, pesticides, fireworks, firearms, toy guns, fuel, bleach, camouflage clothing, drones (need a permit), prescription medications, adult material, counterfeit goods, honey, lobster, conch, and US pork. Other meat, dairy, fish, fresh produce, and pet food need an import permit from Jamaica's Ministry of Agriculture.
Sealed, non-perishable food like canned goods, rice, flour, and seasonings is allowed but may attract customs duty. Fresh meat, dairy, fish, and produce need an import permit from Jamaica's Ministry of Agriculture. Honey, lobster, conch, and US pork (except in sealed cans) are prohibited outright, with no permit route.
Camouflage clothing is reserved for the Jamaica Defence Force. It's illegal for civilians to wear or import, and will be seized by Jamaica Customs.
